Creative Writing Competition

The theme for 2022 is “Opening(s) and submissions close on 16 June 2022.

How to get published: some practical advice  – Monday 6th June,  2pm.

Alysoun Owen, Editor of the bestselling Writers’ & Artists’ Yearbook has worked in publishing and literature in the UK and overseas for over 30 years.

Alysoun will share her experiences and knowledge of the publishing process by providing advice about the options available to authors.

She will cover how to find and approach a literary agent or publisher, self-publishing and crowdfunding opportunities.

U3a Mindfulness and Meditation  – Thursday 10.00am for 6 weeks from 9th June

In this series, Dr John Darwin and Mike Pupius and members of theSheffield u3a Mindful Ageing Group will introduce mindfulness and meditation, using ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’ as a basis. 

Each week they explore a new theme: Take Notice, Connect, Be Active, Give, Keep Learning, and finally, the Full Monty – bringing it all together. For example, in the Be Active session, they shall be talking about the benefits of mindful walking and connecting to nature.

Artificial Intelligence – Friday, 1st July, 10.00am
