Science & Technology – updated details

The programme of events for the Science & Technology group have now been planned until July.  Detailed information sheets including the costs can be found in the drop down list below.

The Oxford Bus Museum at Long Hanborough.

This houses a number of buses that operated locally and there is also the Morris Motors garage which include the Faulkner Cycle Collection.  A cold buffet will be available at a cost of £7.  The Entrance cost is £8.  Own Transport. Full information on the flyer here.

Museum of the Great Western Railway

A fabulous one hour tour of the Museum, focusing on the highlights of the STEAM collection.  Learn about the history of Swindon Works and discover some of the stories of the workers.  Coach, Entrance Fee and guided tour – cost £30.  Full details on the flyer here.

Imperial War Museum, Duxford

RAF Duxford is Britain’s largest aviation museum.  Duxford houses nearly 200 aircraft, military vehicles, and other collections such as film and photographs. Coach and entrance fee is £42.  Full details can be found on the flyer here.  For your interest the site map can found found here.

Combe Mill

Combe Mill is the original sawmill and workshop of the Blenheim Palace Estate. This working industrial museum offers visitors a good insight into what work was like in Victorian times on a rural estate.  Including tea on arrival and before leaving (bring packed lunch).  We have a guided tour and talk about the history of the site.  Cost is £20.  Full details can be found on the flyer here.
